NCSoft and E3
So I was kind of hoping that at E3 we would get some good amount new info on guild wars 2 but I think from the looks of it, looks like we wont get any at all.

damnnn, well we won't have to wait too much longer anyways, right?? (although I expect delays much like Super smash bros brawl, thus why i'm going for GWAMM atm)

Dont worry, they will be at Penny Arcade this year. They always go to Penny Arcade and I have heard this year is no different.

huh.
E3 sure doesn't look like it'll be going anywhere after this year. 5,000 civilian limit, invite-only.
Smart move I say. By pulling out.

Just because NCsoft wont be at E3 doesn't mean we wont get any news on Guild Wars 2. It just means that they wont be attending E3 which to be honest has become a joke since the downsizing of the event.
E3 = epic fail, too many developers and production companies rush games and release dates for E3 only to then delay said games after E3.

I'm in agreement with Slowerpoke. I'm not really holding my breath for any GW2 news, and certainly not a beta, anytime in the next year. If they were that far along I don't see any possible reason why they would want to keep the constituency in the dark and not even show a single piece of concept art.
Anyway, doesn't GW go in for the Penny Arcade Expo more than E3? If I remember correctly, last year they had a head line on the GW website about their attendance at PAX, but nothing about E3.

would you rather the gaming companies release on time with flaws, or show what they can at E3 and then fix those flaws before you spend money on it?
E3 is an exsample show for games, I rather them rush so we can see it at E3, but then take their time fixing all bugs so what happened with Assassin's Creed on ps3 doesnt happen to more games. Crash Bugs are killer.

I'm glad they aren't going for three reasons:
1. Putting together a demo for E3 can take 2-4 weeks meaning time will be wasted on it.
2. E3 has been cut back too much for it to be any good.
3. GW2 probably isn't far enough along yet

I think E3 has become a problematic all together since it’s change from a more liberal approach on the show, to a conservative one. I agree to the sense that now it’s become a way for some of these representatives on the board to “rake in the money” at the convention center. While the developers are limited to just showing some of their products in a cramped hotel room (not the convention center).
However, I have a feeling that news of GW 2 will still be arriving around this period, whether ArenaNet shows up or not. They probably will do it from their own offices then dealing with those cronies over at the LA convention center.

It's not coming out until 2010 so it will be next E3 before you see it. Might as well just settle down and settle back it's going to be a longgggggggggggggg time before GW2 is really unveiled.

"NCsoft plans to launch a handful of games this year, including the high-profile Guild Wars 2 and Aion: Tower of Eternity."

I'm fairly sure that Leipzig GC in August will be the first time anyone sees Guild Wars 2 demo material.

So until it get pushed back, it is coming out this year.

Who's taking E3 seriously anymore? Invite-only is a heaven for people who are professional journalists, whoops, I mean hoes so if GW2 really would be on this years E3, we'd probably hear bs + lies + how much it will rawk.

The "NCsoft plans to launch a handful of games this year, including the high-profile Guild Wars 2 and Aion: Tower of Eternity." that you guys keep quoting comes from the gamespot writer and not from the NCsoft person they're talking to.
